It's official: My child is officially climbing up AND into things. Tonight she was blissfully occupied with the books and unused remotes in a newly discovered cabinet. So I made sure she put nothing small into her mouth while I watched T.V. and waited for Percy to get home. Conveniently the T.V. was located right above her head-really this was the most peaceful non-nap moment I've had in a while! She was right where I could see her and I got to watch T.V. Well, she decided this was too easy for Mama so after pulling out the good stuff from the cabinet she realized there was something in the way far back she just couldn't quite reach-and of course she had to have it. I saw this scene starting to unfold so I grabbed the camera and got ready. She stepped up onto the first shelf, then hiked a knee up onto the second shelf, gave a little boost and she was in! And mama was 10-15 feet away taking pictures, not really all that concerned. Now, when she started making backing out motions I did get over there-but she popped out onto her little booty and was good to go! Even held up her prize to show me! Which happened to be a ziploc bag of screws (?) which meant I had to go and take it from her-such a shame after all that hard work!! I handed her my cell phone and all was forgiven.

Wonder what she would have done if I'd closed her in there at this point? Maybe just long enough to use the ladies' room unaccompanied? Just kidding, kinda...
