Our neighbors have a great playset in their backyard that I asked them about and they directed me to Sam's. We decided this would be Chesley's Christmas present so Percy, Chesley and I made a trip to Sam's to check it out. They only had one left so we ended up getting it that day. Considering how much work it was to get it all loaded into the back of Percy's truck- I am so grateful that I have a husband who knows when he is out of his league. The neighbor who told me about their playset is a home builder and his exact words were, "Do not try to put it together yourself." Well, we actually ran into this neighbor while in Sam's and when we told him why we were there he reiterated his previous statement. His wife agreed whole heartedly with him and reminded him of all the pieces he had left over that he didn't know what to do with after the two weeks it took him to put theirs up. So Percy heeded their advice and we hired a guy who works for the builder that built my parents' house and he brought two friends with him. It took these three men who build houses for a living from 8am-4:30pm on Saturday and 8am-5:30pm on Sunday to put it together, and they had some pieces left over as well. But man did they do it right. They dug down into the ground and set it on concrete blocks we picked up for them at Lowe's. This sucker is stable! Chesley loves it and calls it, 'Chesley's Pwaygwound.' So thank you Daddy for knowing your limits, and thank you Jasper and friends for building it sound for us! (I kept all of the curtains closed from the day they began building it to Christmas morning- it drove my mother crazy when she came over, said she was so claustrophobic. It was a bit dreary but we couldn't let Chesley see it! She didn't and it was a hit!)
